Writing from words of the day

The writers wrote peacefully about An Alice in Wonderland day, No phone to call, Daniel town, I try each day and Peter Dutton.


Reading of homework

The writers read out homework about Plastic man in 1954, Dick Tracey, Lizzie, So much trouble and The dollar bird


Exercise - looking into a bottomless pit

The writers put their heads down and wrote about - I plucked up the courage, The ragged hole, Alice in Wonderland and The deep clear lake.


Exercise – interview the CEO of Apple

The writers recorded an interview with the CEO of Apple on the topic of Factories in China, Apple theme, Apple profits and Give Apple to the Church.

First meeting in 2019

The first meeting is scheduled for Wednesday 9 January 2019. We will discuss preferences for a venue in 2019. Please attend the meeting if you are interested in this topic.

Sate – fully satisfy

Mille fleur - a thousand flowers

Rummer – large drinking glass

Cornucopia – an abundant supply

Salicin – bitter crystalline substance obtained from willow bark

Elixir – a magical or medicinal potion, a particular type of medicinal solution


Writing from words of the day

The three writers were satisfied as they wrote about - My beauty receptors, I brewed the elixir and drunk he was.


Reading of homework

The writers did not fully embrace the fan fiction technique and wrote about - Keep the fan fanning, Dracula & the stake and Little Red Riding Hood.


Exercise What’s the matter with Juliet

The writers investigated the topic and wrote stories and poems about - Not my kind of person, Kicking the dog and Something that she ate.


Homework

Let’s try fan fiction again. As a fan rewrite your favourite story featuring characters from a particular TV series, film etc

We plan to have our last meeting for the year on 19 Dec 2018 and start back on 9 January 2019.

Ell – an old measure 45 inches

Malign – speak ill of someone

Fleek – perfectly groomed eye brows

Plagiarize – publish a borrowed thought

Shenanigator – a person who investigates shenanigans


Writing from words of the day

The writers did not malign as they wrote stories - I am a Shenanigator, I used my binoculars, Another one, Only four feet tall and The ACC.


Reading of homework

The writers read out homework on the topics - The minimalist Christmas, Cyril had a dirty tie, Christmas day in Vincentia, Baker girl foils a cake shop robbery and A dark dog on a dark night in the Piazza.


Exercise – A hold up at McDonalds

The writers used this topic to write about - Santa visits McDonald, Not going to plan, Chaotic but beautiful, Safety at McDonalds and He rarely had a shower.


Exercise – an object that symbolises your life

The writers had a variety of items symbolising their lives - I would rather write than learn, Things left behind in the UK, A wonderful machine, the mobile phone and a magnifying glass.

Meetings over Christmas and New Year

We plan to have meetings on 12 Dec, 19 Dec 2018 and starting back on 9 January 2019.

Levity – light hearted

Merry – cheerful and lively

Tribunal – a body to settle disputes

Scrambling – climbing and altering a message

Leucocytes – white or colourless blood cells

Bullroarer – rhombus or ancient musical instrument

The triumvirate of writers were merry as they scrambled and wrote about - Through the mountains, In the children’s ward and red blood was running.


Reading of homework

The three writers read homework about - A visit to Sydney, Shapes in the square and A three month back packing trip.


Exercise – I caught Santa doing ………

The writers created stories about - Santa was filling his bag with our toys, Santa was using a bullroarer and Santa was a shoplifting.


Exercise – a sigh

The writers sighed as they wrote about - Churchill memories, He sighed many times and Call the ambulance now or wait.

Writing from words of the day

The writers peculated the words of the day and created stories on the topics - I do not cast aspersions, The extra éclair, My Fly buy subscription, The rotund man, Into the jail, I have an uncle and A never ending supply of caps.


Reading of homework

The writers told and read out stories about - Q equals HR squared, I have a little Queen, I saw three Queens together, Jai the hero in a bush fire, From a London Girl, I stayed in Queanbeyan and The door was closed.


Christmas lunch 2018

12 noon - Tuesday 20 November 2018, Vincentia Golf Club Restaurant. Past and present members welcome.  Choose and pay for your own lunch.


Exercise – Over the fence

The writers looked over the fence and wrote about Lusting after a spa party, Children started to play, And far away, Upsets my stomach, He talks to the birds, Chicken bones and Six and out.
