Stories from words of the day
We created an
eclectic range of ebullient stories from the words of the day - At the markets;
I anticipated the Fair; Waiting for the lecture; All the praise; Threw it on
the roof; My favourite book store; Wide range of ideas; and tattoos on her
face.
Five industrious
writers read out interesting stories on the topics - Back to WA, Two
police officers, The reunion of the class of 99, There’s someone in the room
and I avoided Madeline.
Exercise 1 - Character building
We developed a character
by deciding the name, age, marital status, what they eat for breakfast, TV
shows, dreams, a secret, language used and body language.
We then wrote a
short story about our character on the topics - By the kitchen sink, Sonia is
jewel encrusted, The weight should fall off, Banter between neighbours on Pick Pocket Lane ,
Felicity was a loner, Thanks love and Blueberry yoghurt.
Exercise 2 - Seventeen
We had fun
creating a round table story starting with - When I was seventeen, regressing to
age three, pocket money, favourite lollies, Saturday afternoon movies, chores
and progressing to age 59.
