Terry recommended purchasing the emotional thesaurus to help with the show don’t tell approach to writing.

We each wrote a few sentences to demonstrate “being embarrassed” using the technique of show not tell – we showed lots of red faces, shuffling, eye covering and coughing.

Homework

Write a story of a character who has everything important to her taken away, she can’t make excuses any longer, she comes to a fork in the road where she makes a decision.
