Shoalhaven writing group information

Winifred Sadlier from the Shoalhaven Writers Group phoned Pat last week.
Winifred wanted other groups to be aware and in contact with her group particularly during this time of isolation. They are sending in a monthly article on-line during the lockdown and are reading and commenting on each other’s work to keep in the mix during this isolation time.
Winifred has recently had her children’s book published on Amazon and is happy to come and talk us through the process once we are all meeting again.
If anyone is interesting in working with Winifred and the Shoalhaven writers Group you can contact Winifred on  4447 8251 or at her email address winifred.sadlier@gmail.com

22 November 2019

Writing group met Wednesday 6/11/19

Present were: Fran, Trev, Terry, Pat and Pauline so a good turnout. Helene could not come this month due to other commitments.

The future of homework/thought diaries

We discussed our homework/non-homework situation, not everyone was sure about thought diaries. However, one writer read out details which he said had helped him gain some perspective on a troublesome matter that had occurred recently. It was also discussed that the Thought Diary was not meant to be a deep and meaningful counselling type thing but rather thoughts that occurred to us randomly during the month.

Exercises

We did a short one word each 10 min write and read our pieces the words were Fold, Plankton, Mitigate, Dandelions and Manufacture. A bit of fun was had with these words and their juxta positioning….

We then wrote in the first person from the viewpoint of an inanimate object, which again was a bit of light hearted fun.

Christmas meeting

Christmas Meeting will be 1’ish at Pelicans on Wednesday 4th December. Arrive early if you want to spend some time writing, it will be lunch and catch up.
