The meeting ended early after beginning with some discussions about reasons for absences while we waited to see in anyone else turned up.

Holidays and writing


PAT shared about her recent holiday; 23 days in China in an area of 10million people, polite but not much English. Amazing ancient buildings and broken pottery. 1,000 photos including toilets and lamp posts.


There was also writing about “Charles and gunfire and loving foxes”.


Jenny had written on a previous homework topic “We left early”.  It was very adventurous and action filled.

SeeChange 1 to 10 June 2019

The writers discussed the SeeChange festival in particular the poetry event. It’s been over a decade since poet and comedian, Tug Dumbly, rocked a packed Husky Pub for the SeeChange Festival. Now he’s back for a long overdue return performance in which he’ll be reading poems from his just released book, Son Songs, as well as performing a bunch of his old favourite live poems and songs. Tug will be supported by some fine local poets, all in the beautiful surrounds of Capricorn – Andrew Harvey’s unique house in Tomerong.  Capricorn, is a hill top, stone house designed and built by Harv on virgin bush land with 180 degree view of Jervis Bay. If any member wants a critique – they should express their request before reading out their homework. Other writers present if they chose to can then provide feedback immediately after the reading.
