Dial – face of a clock or make a phone call

Quiddity – the inherent nature or essence

Intrepid – fearless, adventurous, unafraid, undaunted

Sallow – yellow or pale brown, a low growing willow tree

Dibbler – a marsupial mouse and an implement to make holes in soil

Writing from words of the day

The intrepid writers grabbed the words of the day and wrote about - Almost ready, I started to sneeze, A traveller and My garden is a wild place.

Reading of homework

Three writers read out stories about - A wild creature, The tree was missing and A flaming giraffe.

Country club Sanctuary Point Friday 15 February 2019 Open day 11 am to 2 pm

Pauline and Fran have volunteered to look after our table at the open day to talk to people about our group.

Invitation for Wednesday 13 February at Angels 5.15 pm

Cosmic asked to spread the word that weather permitting (and bring your own picnic chairs) there will be an event outside Angel's cafe, Huskisson around 5.15pm next Wednesday.

Cosmic is organising street theatre and blues music. Contact Cosmic 0432 080 233 if you want to perform on the night.

Fran and Pauline have nominated to attend between 11 am and 2 pm to promote our group. A few more people to nominate would be appreciated. We can discuss again on 13 February.

The six writers were piqued by the words of the day and wrote about - The mirror, Collect the eggs, For a short moment, A serious concussion, Spreading happiness and she had made her money.

Reading of homework

The writers read out stories about Jai and Mia, James 1, Tom and Cheryl, Norman Joseph Woodland, Abraham and Jacinta Ardern.

Before our meeting the writers attended lunch in the Chinese Restaurant at the Vincentia Golf Club with Diane Bestwick author of “and a bird sang”. After lunch Diane spoke about her time in China and her experiences in publishing her book.

a shrewd, unprincipled person, especially a politician.

Without shenanigans the writers used the words of the day to write about - Scott Morrison, Donald Trump, Nerd, Given everything, The bartender yelled, Who would have thought, Living with the in-laws, Never last and Scroll on.

Reminder for Wednesday 23 January 2019

Writers and friends invited to lunch at 12 noon on 23 January 2019 in the restaurant at the Vincentia Golf Club at their own expense to meet Diane Bestwick. Diane will then make a presentation on her novel "And a bird sang" and self publishing.

Wednesday 23 January 2019

You are invited to meet for lunch in the Chinese Restaurant at the Vincentia Golf Club Murray Street Vincentia from 12 noon on Wednesday 23 January. You will need to pay for your own lunch.

You are also invited to hear Diane Bestwick author of the novel, “And a Bird Sang” to speak at the Bay and Basin Writers group meeting from 1:00 pm on Wednesday 23rd January at the Vincentia Golf Club, attendance at the presentation and meeting is free.

Diane will share her eight years living and working in China as well as the process of self publishing her novel about the one child policy that was in effect while she was in China from 2003 till 2011.

Exercise - looking into a bottomless pit

The writers recorded an interview with the CEO of Apple on the topic of Factories in China, Apple theme, Apple profits and Give Apple to the Church.
